The first day we hiked up to the huts (built in the 60s for glacier research, and to watch the glacier melt from close by). The hike up follows Place Creek, a waterfall for much of the hike up.

After a four hour drive and far shorter hike, camp was setup at a small lake at ~2350m, below Peak 8700. We climbed Peak 8700 before returning to camp for dinner. While atop Peak 8700 we decided to attempt Mount Seton (~2850m) the next morning.

Day hike up Elk Mountain and Mount Thurston in the Chilliwack valley. As soon as we got to the top and pulled out our lunches, a heavy rain came down for about 20 minutes as we ran back down the mountain.
